When the contractors finally pack up, what they leave behind isn't ordinary dirt. Drywall dust is fine enough to hang in the air for hours and settle into every surface, seam and fabric in the home — and it comes back twice more after the first clean. Post-Construction Cleaning is a specialist, multi-pass service using HEPA filtration and the right products for paint flecks, adhesive residue, grout haze and joint-compound film. It's what turns a finished renovation into a home you can actually move back into.

Central Brooklyn renovates constantly. Parlor floors get reconfigured, garden apartments get carved out and rented, kitchens come out of 1970s brownstone conversions, and whole houses in Ocean Hill and Bed-Stuy get gut-renovated before changing hands. Every one of those projects ends the same way: a beautiful new space buried under a layer of construction dust that a normal clean simply cannot handle. Run an ordinary vacuum over drywall dust and you'll blow most of it back into the air, where it will resettle on everything within the hour.

We work in passes. The first removes bulk debris and the heaviest dust with HEPA-filtered equipment, working strictly top-down — ceilings, light fixtures, high ledges, then walls, then surfaces, then floors. The second pass, after the airborne dust has had time to settle, catches everything that fell during the first. A third detail pass handles what's left: paint flecks scraped from glass and hardware, adhesive and sticker residue removed from new appliances and fixtures, grout haze polished off new tile, joint-compound film wiped from window frames, and the inside of every new cabinet cleaned before you put anything in it. Vents, tracks and radiator alcoves get particular attention, because construction dust collects there and keeps recirculating for months if it's left.

We coordinate with contractors and general contractors regularly and can come in after final punch-list work, or between trades if you need the space usable partway through. For co-ops and condos around Fort Greene and Eastern Parkway we'll handle the certificate of insurance and service-elevator booking as part of the job. Pricing is flat and quoted after we understand the scope — the honest answer is that a two-week kitchen refit and a six-month gut renovation are very different jobs, and we'd rather quote each accurately than average them.
